  • How do I buy an original painting?
    I create collections of paintings throughout the year according to the availability of time I have and release them through my website. These paintings tend to sell quite quickly and if there are any available you'll find them here.
  • Can I ask you to do a commissioned painting?
    Yes, when time permits I can do something special for you. More information on the commission process can be found here or you can contact me directly at diane@dianeobrienartist.com
  • Do your paintings come framed?
    No, my pieces do not come with a frame. Any frames in my listings are for display only and not included with the order. I’m happy to give you advice on framing options. On some occasions I can arrange to have your painting pre-framed and you can contact me through this site or email me at diane@dianeobrienartist.com if you'd like to talk about this.
  • Where do you ship from?
    I ship my artworks from Adelaide, South Australia. All prices on this website are shown in $AUD. (I realize that some customers are not located in Australia so please contact me and I will discuss shipping costs and arrangements to have your painting sent to you. Shipping outside Australia will be an extra cost for the buyer)
  • How soon will I receive my order?
    Processing Time for Paintings Paintings are usually sent out 2- 5 business days after your order is placed and payment has been received. Commission pieces will be assessed on the project requirements. Shipping Times for Australian Orders Australian shipping times after posting usually take between 2 – 10 business days depending on which postal or courier service I use.
  • How are your pieces shipped?
    All artworks are handled with the utmost care and beautifully packaged between sturdy foamboard , secured in a protective sleeve and bubble wrapped. I include an information pack on the care and framing of your piece, and recommend that you keep the painting in its original packaging for protection until it is taken to the framer. Small paintings are mailed in a sturdy flat mailer. Medium to large paintings (16" x20" and larger) are mailed in extra strong, specially made, protective mailing boxes.
  • How much is it to ship my original painting?
    Domestic Australian shipping prices are included in the cost of the piece. Express shipping and Insurance can be arranged by contacting me direct – diane@dianeobrienartist.com
  • I'm in a rush, can I ask for Express Shipping?"
    Express shipping can be arranged by contacting me direct - diane@dianeobrienartist.com If you have already purchased and decided that you want your order sooner, if I have not already shipped your order I can arrange express shipping for a small extra fee.
  • Is my payment information protected?
    The security of this site is closely monitored to prevent any unauthorised disclosure or use of credit card numbers and to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. We use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) industry standard, the highest level of security available today for web-secured applications.
  • Why do you collect my contact details?
    When you purchase from me, I may ask you to provide contact information such as name, email, telephone number and postal address for billing purposes and to ship your order. If I have trouble processing your order, I may use this information to contact you. I will not use this information for any other purpose other than the reasons stated above.
  • What if I want to change or cancel my order after ordering?
    I work very hard to ensure your order is sent to you as soon as possible. Once your order has been placed and posted it cannot be changed or cancelled.
  • Do you accept returns or exchanges?
    Every order, commission, and sale is handled with care and as much clarity and transparency as possible. If you have any concerns or questions about my pieces please contact me before purchasing. Unfortunately, I cannot accept returns or exchanges for artworks and all sales are final. This is due to the delicate nature of original paintings which are easily damaged if not handled by a professional on arrival. Exceptions may apply on a discretionary basis. I personally inspect and ensure the quality of every artwork before it is signed and shipped so unless the artwork is vastly different from the description in the listing all sales are final on original artworks and I'm unable to accept returns.
  • Loss or Damage Through Shipping
    As soon as I send your order I will advise you by email and give you the tracking details and an expected delivery date. Buyers are responsible for shipments once they enter the postal system. I am not responsible for delays, damage or loss during shipping however will work with you to try to resolve this situation should it arise. Please check your delivery address and make sure your artwork can be delivered safely at your end. If you can't be sure of this please contact me to add insurance to your shipment as I hold no responsibly for lost or stolen orders at the delivery point. On rare occasions damage can occur through handling by the shipping and postal agencies. Items can also be lost or stolen at the delivery point. If the following procedures are followed, both you and I have a much better chance of follow up action with the shipping company; 1. Don't permit the courier to leave your parcel unattended if you are not there to personally receive it. 2. If you cannot be there to receive your order, please arrange to pick up the parcel in person from the shipping depot or post office. 3. Before accepting and signing for the shipment, please check the outside packaging for damage. 4. If there is any sign of damage either (a) refuse delivery or (b) open the package in the presence of the delivery person and check the contents in front of them. Photo documentation would be useful at this time. 5. If the artwork inside is damaged, refuse the delivery and if possible take further photos for evidence. If these responsibilities are not met at your end, I will have trouble assisting you. Please be understanding when contacting me about loss or damage during transit as I have no control over the treatment of your package by the post office or the courier services.
  • Other Shipping Events
    If your order is returned to me by the postal delivery service due to a wrong address, your refusal to accept the order or because no one was home to accept delivery:- on receipt of the returned item, the cost of the order will be refunded less a 25% handling fee. The original and return shipping costs will not be refunded.
  • Returns under Exceptional Circumstances
    In certain circumstances I may accept a return and the following conditions will apply: 1/ Orders accepted to be returned or exchanged are required to be shipped back within 7 days of receipt. Please notify me first within 3 days of receipt either by email or through this site. 2/ Artworks must be returned in the original condition and packaging with a copy of your receipt. I cannot provide you a refund for artwork that is damaged in transit back to the studio due to poor re-packaging. After inspection to ensure all items are in perfect condition and not damaged in any way, a refund or exchange will be made. 3/ Original shipping charges are non-refundable. For orders that include Free Shipping, orders will be refunded less the actual cost to ship the original order.
  • Colour Accuracy
    When selecting paintings please note that all computer monitors will show colours a little differently and there may be a slight variation from the colours you see on your screen to the actual version. If you are in doubt, please check the colours on multiple monitors to make sure before purchasing.   • Who owns the rights to original paintings?
    I retain all rights to each of the artworks created by me. This includes the rights to the image of sold and commissioned original paintings. I retain the right to make reproductions of any and all artworks I create. If the buyer of my artworks decides to reproduce the artwork in a magazine or other media I would expect to be credited as the artist.
